Mesa State College and the University of Colorado at Boulder have created an innovative partnership to deliver a mechanical engineering program in its entirety in Grand Junction.

The Mechanical Engineering Partnership Program offers students a unique opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder while completing all requirements on the Mesa State College campus in Grand Junction, Colorado. Because ABET, the accrediting agency for engineering, requires graduates from a program before it can apply for accreditation, the MSC/CU Partnership Program is not currently accredited. Accreditation will be sought as soon as allowable, which will be after the first students graduate from the program in 2012. If accreditation is granted in conjunction with the 2012-2013 accreditation cycle, it will be retroactive to include the degrees awarded to the 2012 graduating class. From hands-on engineering design projects in the first year to senior design projects that culminate four years of learning, the Mechanical Engineering Partnership Program's rigorous curriculum prepares students for careers in a wide range of industries.

This program prepares students for careers in a wide range of industries through the rigorous study of mechanical engineering. Students participate in hands-on engineering design projects beginning in their freshman year and continuing through senior design projects.
